Google Reader

Setting up Google Reader was fun, and easy. Organizing some of the blogs I read, or would like to be reading, into one place felt good, though whether I actually use this tool to keep up is another question. On some level it is a bit much to be faced with a dozen posts I have not yet read in multiple blogs rather than taking that one at a time.

  1. But on the other hand, the read allows you to scan the posts and not feel you have to commit to reading every single one! If you categorize them you can have all your education blogs in one folder, all your literacy one is another and all your just for fun ones in yet another. Much to my dismay, I find I always manage to read everything in my "just for fun folder and sometimes slack on the others!

  2. Thank you! I went back and created a few folders to organize them a bit. Mainly my chosen blogs are book blogs - Teenreads, YALSA, Reading Rants!, bookshelves of doom, Chasing Ray - but I follow my sister in law's blog faithfully as it is well written and blends the political, personal, and literary in proportions more or less similar to my own interests. Dan Froomkin was the first blog I ever followed and became addicted to. I miss his blog at the Washington Post, but will still read him at Huffington because he does such a great job of distilling the vast world of political writing into what one must know.
